• NEFAR: Jacksonville Home Prices, Sales increase from 2014

  • The Northeast Florida Association of Realtors released its December 2015 and annual report Tuesday night showing continuation of strong housing numbers.

    The average sale price of homes in the area increased by 4.9 percent year-over-year. The average home price has reached $179,900, according to NEFAR’s report.

    The association reported the number of homes actively being marketed reached the lowest mark in several years at 8,537. New listings decreased by 1.6 percent from December.

    A house is staying on the market for an average of 84 days.

    The annual report points out more homes changed hands in 2015 — 26,000 — than in any year since 2006, when the figure was 35,000, according to NEFAR.
